Primary Purpose:
Plan and coordinate compliance with board policies and regulations along with state and federal laws and guidelines as they relate to financial data, internal controls and financial processes. Plan and deliver all finance training related to ERP system finance and finance procedures. Provide direction to office managers throughout the District at all levels on all finance compliance matters. Handle confidential information and frequent contact with all levels of district employees, outside agencies, and the general public.

Qualifications:
Education/Certification:

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Effective communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
• Public speaking and presentation ability
• Ability to work under the pressures of deadlines
• Proficient use of computer software, including word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint and Google Docs
• Detail oriented with high degree of ability to analyze and research issues pertaining to accounting procedures
• Proficient time management and organizational skills

Experience:

• Experience in using a fully integrated ERP system - experience with current ERP system (preferred)
• Training or presentation experience
• General accounting experience - minimum of 2 to 3 years
• Office manager experience in an education setting (preferred)
• Experience working with TEA Financial Accounting and Reporting/Account Coding (preferred)

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide daily support and direction to campuses/departments in the areas of financial procedures and ERP system processes
• Provide on-site visits to campuses and new hire onboarding
• Review retail card requests, requisitions, travel reimbursements, check request and other workflow areas deemed necessary
• Maintain proficient knowledge of District board policies and regulations impacting Finance and Procurement
• Maintain expert knowledge of ERP system used district wide along with understanding of interaction of processes within the system and potential results based on integration of actions
• Research questions and issues submitted by office staff on ERP system, general ledger accounts and other financial matters
• Alert CFO and Director to system and procedural issues that may create violation of District policies and department procedures
• Review compliance with board policies, regulations and guidelines along with state and federal laws as they relate to financial data, internal controls and financial processes
• Coordinate and assist with planning of meetings/training/events
• Deliver training on finance and accounting procedures, ERP system finance, and other assigned processes and procedures for all finance system users district wide
• Maintain continued development and implementation of training program, and daily direction provided to office managers with key finance responsibilities at their campus/departmen
• Perform duties in a professional manner with ability to be involved directly with confidential and sensitive information
• Follow all rules, regulations, procedures and policies of Plano ISD and follow directives from supervisor
• Follow attendance policy as assigned by supervisor
• Perform other functions that may be assigned by the Administration and/or supervisor

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

• Occasional prolonged and irregular work hours. Work with frequent interruptions. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling. Prolonged use of computer and repetitive hand motions. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
