Senior Civil Structural Designer
System One is seeking a high-caliber Senior Civil Structural Designer to join an engineering team in Charlotte, NC. This role will be designing combine cycle, simple cycle power plants. Responsibilities include serving as the designated checker for civil/structural drawings and 3D models, ensuring compliance with various standards, verifying accuracy and constructability, performing comprehensive 3D model reviews, reviewing vendor/shop drawings and construction submittals, identifying and resolving discrepancies, acting as a QA/QC gatekeeper, developing and reviewing designs for civil systems, structural steel, concrete, and architectural components, mentoring junior and mid-level team members, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting project execution.
Requirements include an associate degree in Drafting, Design, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience, 12+ years of civil/structural design experience, strong experience in QA/QC processes, proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation, advanced-level CADD expertise, experience working in multi-project, deadline-driven environments, and a strong understanding of structural design principles, construction practices, and multidisciplinary coordination.
