Job Title: Driver/Client Transporter FT

Location: Prince George County Facility

Address: 3000 Lottsford Vista Road, Bowie

Schedule: Sunday- Thursday 3pm-11:30pm

Pay Range: $15/hr - $16/hr

Summary: Pyramid Healthcare Drivers play a vital role in delivering exceptional behavioral healthcare services. As the first and last point of contact for our patients, drivers are responsible for providing outstanding customer service and safe, compassionate transport. This includes transporting patients to and from clinical services and support services, as well as maintaining clean and sanitized vehicles to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff. A valid driver's license is required for this position.

Education/Experience:

• Preferred: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Prior experience in a hospital or behavioral healthcare setting, patient care, and/or transportation is a plus.

• Skills/Qualifications:

  • Medical, EMT, or NEMT experience is preferred.
  • Experience in the transportation of individuals, particularly in services like Uber or Lyft, is beneficial.
  • Basic understanding of substance use disorders (SUD) and mental health challenges faced by individuals.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients and staff.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Capability to manage frequent extended transports.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration:

• Active valid driver’s license.
• CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Completion of various safety trainings upon hire.

Essential Functions:

• Transport patients to and from behavioral healthcare services.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients, self, and co-workers.
• Communicate positively and professionally with team members, co-workers, and patients.
• Take initiative to provide the best customer service, even in stressful situations.
• Understand all aspects and functionalities of the client transportation system.
• Ensure appropriate safety oversight and monitoring for all clients during transport.

Work Environment:

• Interaction with patients under various circumstances.
• Possible exposure to patient elements.
• Ability to handle emergency or crisis situations.
• Subject to interruptions and pressure from multiple calls and inquiries.
• Occasionally required to work irregular hours.
• Must be prepared for short-notice absentee replacements.
• Personal protective equipment (masks) is required when transporting patients.
