Aquatic Technician
Under the supervision of the District Physical Education Teacher and school principal, the Aquatic Technician supervises students in Physical Education activities and swim and water safety activities so that students derive maximum benefits from the instructional program for Physical Education; observe, monitor and record student behavior and performance; assist in maintaining student attendance records. This position may also provide for the transportation of students in District or private vehicles (not a school bus) and perform related duties as assigned. All or part of this position may by paid out of categorical funds.
High School Diploma or equivalent Must meet academic requirement by any of the following: Pass a District administered proficiency test in Reading, Writing and mathematics; OR Completion of at least two years (four (4) semesters of 12 units or more) of study at a college or university; OR Earn an Associate's degree; OR completed 48 semester hours of college level coursework with a "C" grade or higher.
One year or more working with children in an organized setting preferred. Possession of a First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate within the first six (6) months of hire. Possession of Lifeguard Training Certification. Possession of Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification. Must meet SB 88 requirements.
