Branch Support Specialist – Job Summary Mechanics Bank is hiring a Branch Support Specialist to work onsite in Walnut Creek, CA. The role focuses on providing advisory and escalation support for complex retail banking transactions in accordance with regulatory and bank policies, ensuring operational excellence and risk oversight. Responsibilities Branch Support & Guidance (55%) : Serve as the primary point of contact for branch staff regarding procedural questions related to deposit accounts, teller transactions, and new account openings; provide timely guidance on policies, procedures, regulatory requirements; support branch teams in resolving complex customer scenarios; review and approve legal documentation, account exceptions, and policy deviations; act as liaison between branch staff and internal partners; coordinate across departments to clarify policies; and elevate higher risk or complex issues as needed. Operational Support & Excellence (45%) : Promote consistent process execution across retail branches; monitor recurring issues and identify trends; partner with leadership to recommend process improvements; perform complex account maintenance; review and complete service request tickets; research and resolve account issues with proper documentation; identify knowledge gaps and recommend training; assist in developing and delivering training materials; support onboarding and ongoing education; and complete required training by assigned due dates. Qualifications High School diploma or GED required. Minimum 3 years of banking/retail operations experience; preferred 5+ years in retail operations of a financial institution. Branch management experience a plus. Advanced knowledge of retail branch operations, teller functions, deposit account maintenance, and opening procedures. Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making, risk assessment, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Customer‑service mindset. Fully cross‑trained in applicable operations processes. Pay Range $29.00 – $40.00 hourly; AIP/Bonus up to 5%.
