Fundraising Manager

Role Description The Syrian American Medical Society’s Fundraising Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing fundraising strategies, cultivating donor relationships, and ensuring the organization meets its financial goals. Key Responsibilities Strategically develop, manage, and implement an annual fundraising plan aligned with programmatic and strategic goals, increasing and diversifying revenue streams. Monitor and evaluate all fundraising activities to ensure goals are achieved. Provide monthly reporting on donor/fundraising information to management and board of directors. Develop and manage the major gift program: manage private donors’ fund, including solicitation, direct mail, e‑solicitation, annual campaigns; maintain detailed records; direct timely acknowledgements and draft thank‑you letters. Identify and lead efforts for soliciting funds from private foundations and businesses: apply for grants, develop materials and reports. Maintain relationships with current donors and grantors, while cultivating ties with prospective private foundations, corporate donors, and charitable funds. Plan, manage, and execute fundraising events with department staff and volunteers. Direct the development of online and printed promotional materials for campaigns and events. Ensure donor privacy and protect records, maintaining confidentiality. Supervise staff to ensure efficient upkeep and tracking of donor data. Attend fundraising committee meetings as necessary. Provide staff support and leadership to onsite and remote team members and volunteers. Monitor, evaluate, adjust, and oversee implementation of the annual fundraising plan to meet goals. Report and track progress toward set goals, keeping leadership team apprised of successes and challenges. Use financial and donor records to identify and reactivate lapsed donors. Collaborate with the Media and Communication team to develop compelling cases for soliciting donations. Seek and participate in external events and networking opportunities. Represent the department at various organizational committees. Develop and manage the production and implementation of custom direct mail appeals. Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing annual conferences, symposiums, and fundraising galas. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications / Requirements Relevant education in marketing, business administration, or fundraising; certifications such as Certificate or Diploma in Fundraising are beneficial. At least 7–10 years of experience in fundraising. At least 5–7 years of managerial experience. Desired Characteristics Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Strategic planning and project management abilities. Proficiency with fundraising software and MS Office. Experience in nonprofit, charity, or educational institutions is advantageous.
