Sales Engineer (SaaS) Requirements & Qualifications 5–7+ years of experience in a sales engineer, solutions engineer, or pre-sales role within a SaaS environment. Strong technical foundation in areas such as APIs, data architecture, cloud platforms, and systems integrations. Proven experience delivering effective demos and presentations to both technical and business audiences. Direct experience working with digital publishers, media companies, or relevant technologies like paywalls, ad tech, or audience data platforms. Solid understanding of media business models, including subscriptions, advertising, and hybrid monetization strategies. Confident communication and presentation skills with technical and commercial stakeholders. Familiarity with enterprise sales cycles and complex deal structures. Sales Engineer (SaaS) Preferred Background & Skills Experience answering RFPs, RFIs, and security/technical questionnaires. Ability to influence and collaborate closely with product and engineering teams. Sales Engineer (SaaS) Day-to-Day Responsibilities Partner with the sales team to support the full sales cycle from discovery to close. Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer requirements and system constraints. Deliver tailored product demos that clearly articulate business value and return on investment. Design and present solution architectures aligned to customer needs. Respond to RFPs, RFIs, and address technical or security questionnaires. Act as a trusted advisor to prospects, providing expertise and addressing technical concerns. Collaborate with product and engineering to relay customer feedback and help shape the product roadmap. Support smooth handoff to customer success teams for post-sale transition.
