Early Childhood Substitute Teacher
We are looking for caring, flexible, and enthusiastic substitute teachers to join our early childhood community on our Jackson Campus. This is a wonderful opportunity to work with children ages 18 months to 5 years while learning more about Reggio Emilia-inspired and nature-based education.
About the RoleSubstitute teachers support our classroom teams as needed, building relationships with children and helping create a warm, safe, and engaging environment. Our program values curiosity, connection, creativity, and time spent outdoors, so substitute teachers have the opportunity to spend meaningful time outside with children through play, exploration, and learning.
The schedule is flexible and based on your availability, making this a great opportunity for someone looking for occasional or part-time work.
Responsibilities- Support children ages 18 months–5 years in a nurturing and engaging environment.
- Step into different classrooms and support teachers with daily routines and activities.
- Build positive relationships with children and respond to their individual needs.
- Engage children through play, conversation, creativity, and hands-on exploration.
- Spend time outdoors with children in a variety of weather conditions.
- Support children's independence, curiosity, and connection to the natural world.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and the broader school community.
- Pass and complete all WY Department of Family Services licensing background checks and requirements.
- Warm, patient, dependable, and genuinely enjoys working with young children.
- Flexible and comfortable adapting to different classrooms and situations.
- Curious about early childhood education and interested in learning about Reggio Emilia and nature-based approaches.
- Comfortable spending time outdoors with children.
- A positive, collaborative member of a teaching team.
- Previous experience working with young children is preferred, but we also welcome individuals who are eager to learn and have a genuine interest in early childhood education.
- Flexible scheduling based on your availability.
- Hands-on experience in a Reggio Emilia-inspired, nature-based school.
