Forklift Operator

POSITION SUMMARY Load and unload trucks according to company standards and customer requirements, ensuring that all shipments are handled efficiently and safely. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Working under the guidelines of the Safety and Food Safety Programs. Practice GMP's. Handling of all finished materials produced according to established SOP's. Delivery of all finished goods. Sign for all delivered goods through a method and process of cycle counting. Inspection of all finished material for visual defects. Responsibility for physical counts, as well as associated paperwork when totaling Production counts. Support team in achievement of goals. Perform Housekeeping duties as set forth. Operate Forklift. Read gauges, conduct forklift battery maintenance, and is responsible for using safety devices provided by the company (airlocks, seatbelts, etc). Must be able to perform all jobs associated with Warehouse/Shipping as directed. Other duties (including ground maintenance) that may be assigned. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES Able to read and write English. Must be able distinguish (by sight, sound, touch, or other senses) whether his/her machine is operating correctly or is in a proper state of repair. Able to work in extreme temperatures and wet/humid environments. Flexible to work extended hours and weekends. Able to follow through and complete assigned tasks. Ability to apply common sense reasoning to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form with attention to detail. Reasonable knowledge of Whitfield Food's customers, product line, ingredients and packaging. Ability to read and interpret documents such as food safety and safety rules and work instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Team oriented. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE High School Degree or equivalent.
