Staff Software Engineer

Soni's client is a fast-growing technology company building a platform that connects real-world experiences with digital engagement. They are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to help design, build, and scale core platform capabilities with a focus on user activation and growth-oriented experiences. This role offers the opportunity to work across the full stack while contributing to architectural decisions and mentoring teammates in a high-impact environment.

The Role
As a senior member of a lean, high-performing engineering team, you will own medium-to-large features end-to-end - from data modeling and API design to polished user-facing interfaces. You'll help balance rapid iteration with long-term maintainability, ensuring the platform remains reliable, performant, and scalable as the business grows.
This role is well-suited for an engineer who values pragmatic solutions, thoughtful architecture, and collaborative problem-solving.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable features across modern frontend frameworks and backend services
• Own features from concept through production, including data design and user experience considerations
• Contribute to technical direction and architectural decisions that support platform growth
• Partner closely with product, design, and data teams to deliver and iterate on features efficiently
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code with attention to performance and developer experience
• Mentor engineers and help raise the overall technical bar within the team
• Balance ideal engineering practices with real-world constraints such as timelines and customer needs

What We're Looking For

• 5-7+ years of experience building and shipping production-grade software across the stack
• Proficiency in at least one modern backend language (e.g., Go, Python, or Java)
• Strong experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular
• Solid understanding of web architecture, API design, and data modeling (SQL and/or NoSQL)
• Experience working in cloud environments and with containerized deployments
• Commitment to code quality, testing, and CI/CD best practices
• Ability to reason about scalability, performance, and tradeoffs
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, ownership-oriented mindset
• Comfort operating in fast-moving, resource-conscious environments

Compensation: $180,000 to $250,000 annually
Compensation is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
