Adjunct Faculty - Surgical Technology Instructor

Surgical Technology InstructorMoraine Park Technical College is seeking a part-time adjunct Surgical Technology instructor to perform clinical site visits within the MPTC service area for the Surgical Technology program. This individual will perform at least one site visit per week in the Grafton area. Primary duties include communicating with students and preceptor/unit manager/etc. about progress toward competencies, guiding students in weak areas and grading student work. Candidates must have availability to work daytime hours, during the workweek.The successful candidate will have an associate degree in Surgical Technology from an accredited program and a minimum of two years (4,000 hours) of paid work experience in either an operating room scrub role, as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, that has been acquired within the past five years. Candidates must also possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA) and licensing and/or professional organization involvement.Responsibilities include preparing for and facilitating learning in the assigned courses according to the College's core values, establishing a professional and safe learning environment, meeting student learning needs by incorporating a variety of teaching methods and assessments, maintaining student confidentiality, records, and documentation, providing timely verbal and written feedback to the students, participating in the development, implementation, evaluation, and updating of curriculum, assisting with student recruitment, promoting retention and student success, maintaining ongoing relationships with K-12, Department of Corrections (DOC), community, and industry partners, actively maintaining proficient knowledge and skills in emerging trends and current occupational practices, and completing annual professional development activities in areas of Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS) competencies.Additional experience and qualifications include maintaining and/or obtaining Higher Learning Commission, Faculty Quality Assurance System, and other agency requirements and licensure required to maintain individual and program accreditation, demonstrating ability to work effectively with diverse populations, and possessing demonstrated ability to speak and write in English and Spanish in professional settings.Other position requirements include satisfactorily completing health screen requirements, flexible scheduling may be required to include evenings and weekends, teaching and/or travel to other MPTC campus locations, client/contract work sites, and/or Department of Corrections (DOC) institutions, and possessing a valid driver's license.Hiring range: Adjunct pay rates may vary between $39.85 - $44.25/hour based on course configuration. Starting: Fall 2026. Hours/Travel: Up to 8 hours per week, travel to clinical sites located within the MPTC service area.
