Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Summary:
The perioperative nurse is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and patient-family centered care throughout the surgical experience. They assist with surgical procedures, monitor patient status, and provide recovery support as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and deliver perioperative nursing care for surgical patients.
• Scrub in, circulate, and assist in the recovery room to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other team members.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to organizational policies.
• Support the mission, vision, and values of the healthcare organization.
• Document patient care activities accurately in electronic medical records.

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Current registered nurse licensure in the state of Maine.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification required for PACU duties (may obtain within 6 months of hire).
• Minimum of 1 year medical/surgical or perioperative nursing experience.
• Basic computer skills necessary; CNOR certification preferred.
