Associate Child Care Teacher

Overview: Join a dedicated team supporting the developmental and care needs of young children in a nurturing childcare center located in the Southeastern United States. This role assists the lead teacher in delivering a high-quality educational program while maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the lead teacher by implementing curriculum activities for individuals and groups.
Collaborate on curriculum planning and prepare materials for daily learning experiences.
Follow established center routines and procedures independently, including diaper changing and emergency protocols.
Engage positively with children, serving as a constructive role model.
Participate in parent involvement initiatives such as newsletters, conferences, and meetings.
Maintain a healthy, safe, and clean learning environment.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Training:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of Early Childhood Development coursework (minimum of 6 additional credit hours) from an accredited institution.
Out-of-state coursework must be reviewed by the appropriate state division of childhood development.
Certification in Heartsaver First Aid, CPR, and AED from the American Heart Association is required.

Experience:

At least 2 years of responsible classroom experience in a professional childcare or elementary school setting.

Skills and Abilities:

Understanding of physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development of children from birth to five years.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to observe and respond to children's needs in the classroom environment.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform activities including walking, standing, and lifting children and various objects.
