Position: Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) plays an essential role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the nursing department and ensuring the delivery of high-quality resident care. This position works closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) and provides leadership and direction to licensed and non-licensed nursing personnel responsible for providing care and services to residents.

Responsibilities:

• Will have responsibilities in staff development & educations, infection control, and wound care management. Weekend call rotation will be a part of the responsibilities.
• This position develops and implements nursing services, objectives, and policies and procedures in accordance with Federal and State regulations as well as local standards and guidelines.
• Designs, implements, and evaluates nursing systems that ensure consistent delivery of care and maintains and promotes resident rights.
• Conducts nursing rounds on all units several times per day, including the beginning and end of shift.
• Ensures that residents are free from abuse, mistreatment, and neglect.
• Participates as a member of the facility’s interdisciplinary management team in planning, policy formation and administrative decision-making, with particular emphasis on the facility’s nursing services.

Education and/or Experience:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Minimum of 1 year of RN leadership experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting.
• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program.
• Experience with applicable state survey rules and regulations, as well as Medicare and Medicaid requirements.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Infection Prevention Certification preferred; candidates without certification will be considered if they are willing to obtain it.
• Proficiency with desktop or notebook computers, Microsoft Office, and various medical equipment.
• Prior experience with PointClickCare (PCC) is a plus.
