Under the supervision of the Packaging Maintenance Manager, the Electrical Mechanical Technician is responsible for ensuring minimal down time and performing a variety of mechanical and electrical maintenance duties.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform set-up, adjustment, timing, troubleshooting, and replacement of mechanical/electrical equipment. This also includes other Maintenance Mechanic responsibilities.Contributes to a safe workplace by performing all tasks in accordance with NFPA70E, OSHA, EPA, FDA, Lock Out/Tag Out/Try Out safety rules, codes, policies and regulations and Confined Entry policiesWork to reduce unplanned downtime through effective troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing equipment, disassembling and reassembling of machinery, overhauling gearboxes, pumps and motors, and replacing bearings, bushings, etc. to insure conformance to specifications or production requirementsComplete assigned work efficiently and per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Work in a team or autonomously to complete work orders and provide mechanical and electrical supportActively work with team members on root-cause analysis and implementationAnalyze process data and make decisions on equipment maintenance and improvement activitiesSupport machining, tooling and fabrication needs for the plantPerform additional responsibilities and other tasks as assignedMinimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredMust be 18 years oldProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint) and effectively use the Internet, as well as Computerized Maintenance Management Systems experience preferred2 years of experience as a machinist or completion of a technical degree/vocational training program strongly preferredMust be able to work in varying temperatures and climatesKnowledge of safety policies and procedures is required (e.g. lock out/tag out, confined space)Ability to read and understand blueprintsAbility to perform weld using various techniques including Stick, TIG and MIGKnowledge of common machining tools including lathes, mills, presses, and grindersDemonstrated skills in hydraulic/pneumatic systems, pumps, laser alignment, power transmission, precision measuring toolsAbility to rebuild and repair gearboxes, pumps, and other manufacturing equipmentAbility to troubleshoot problems, identify root causes (e.g. six sigma analysis) and propose and implement remediesHighly motivated, self-directed, worker that is able to work autonomously in a fast paced and often-loud food production environmentStrong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment with people of varying skills and backgroundsElectrical troubleshooting experience in high-speed packaging and/or highly automated continuous process environment preferredBenefits/CompensationCity Brewery provides a competitive salary and benefit package that includes Health, Dental, Vision, Life, and Long-Term Disability Insurance; Section 125; 401(k) and a paid 30-minute meal period.
