This position provides direct instruction to students and consultation to classroom teachers serving learners with special needs. The position requires applicants to possess a thorough understanding of special education law, cognitive/social emotional development, IEP development and classroom interventions within a tiered system of supportive instruction. The Lyndon Town School is team-oriented and operates under a Professional Learning Communities (PLC) model. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are also required. The pay range for this position is currently $44,232-$86,232. The Lyndon Town School is part of the Kingdom East School District and is located in the heart of a vibrant community in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We operate seven preK-8th grade schools ranging from 60 to 500 students. Our high school students have “choice” and may opt to attend one of the traditional independent schools — Lyndon Institute or St. Johnsbury Academy — or another high school of their choosing. We are located about 3 hours from Boston, Montreal and Portland, ME. Our region is known for breathtaking views and access to great skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing and other outdoor opportunities.
