Auto Body Technician – MS Ridgeland The Auto Body Technician’s primary responsibility is to deliver an exceptional customer experience through meticulous assessment and quality repair of each vehicle, restoring it to its pre‑accident condition. Key Responsibilities Plan and perform repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers. Use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections. Identify and correct dents, dimples, and other minor body damage; mix and apply filler resins when necessary. Realign chassis and frames to correct structural damage. Remove damaged sections and replace them with new or aftermarket parts. Repair or replace glass, windshields, and interior parts as needed. Weld and attach parts, then prepare vehicles for repainting with factory‑specified paint or agreed equivalents. Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines and ensure all work is inspected for correctness. Perform other related duties as assigned. Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer. Required Skills & Abilities Read job orders and work with minimal supervision. Collaborate effectively with other repairers in the shop. Understand vehicle body repair methods and procedures. Proficient in using trade tools required for auto body repair. Other Requirements Operate safely in a noisy area with strong odors. Lift up to 30 pounds at times. Visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions. Flexibly bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections. Compensation Details $21 – $30 per hour, flat rate tied to booked hours. Minimum wage guarantee applies if total compensation falls below local or state minimum.
