Telemetry Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Travel experience is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Idaho license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - St. Luke’s Health System and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - St. Luke’s Health System.

Required Skills/Experience: - Must have post-procedural cardiac experience (cath lab, ablations, open heart). - Must be able to read and interpret telemetry and document it appropriately; nurses are expected to read and interpret telemetry 2x per shift.

Preferred Skills/Experience: - PCU and stepdown experience preferred.

Special Requests: - Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. - Previous St. Luke’s employees may be considered on a one-off exception basis with St. Luke’s Health System approval. - Block scheduling is not guaranteed; maximum of 5 shifts in a row.

Unit Details: - Uses Epic. - 3rd floor patient population includes cardiac-focused patients, post-op procedural patients, post-op day 1 open heart, TAVRs, ablations, post-caths, pacemakers, and med-tele patients. - 7th floor patient population includes general telemetry, post-procedural overflow, CHF, sepsis, electrolyte imbalances, and post-stroke patients. - Manages heparin drips and rare insulin drips; facility will train on insulin drips if needed. - Common drips include set-rate cardiac drips, amiodarone, Cardizem, dopamine, and dobutamine. - Can take patients with intermittent high-flow, BiPAP, and CPAP needs; RT manages respiratory equipment, with RN assistance if needed.

Shift & Scheduling: - Schedule is typically made 6 weeks at a time; travelers are asked to stay flexible to help fill staffing gaps. - 5-6 weekend shifts in each 6-week schedule for days (Saturday/Sunday). - May be asked to work holidays, but not every holiday. - Call/standby is not typical.

Floating Requirements: - Tele 3 and 7 pool staffing together; traveler will be expected to float between 3rd and 7th floors as needed. - Travelers are first to float and may also float to other MS, MS-Tele, or Tele units within the hospital and to sister facilities in Meridian and Nampa.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 3 years
