All qualified and interested applicants are encouraged to apply.Position Summary: WLCSC is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our dedicated Special Education team. The OT will be responsible for assessing and treating students with OT deficiencies that impact academic performance and social participation. This professional will collaborate with teachers, parents, and related service providers to help each student reach their fullest potential within the educational setting.Duties and Responsibilities:Compliance and Monitoring: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) Provide direct and indirect therapy to address identified OT goals Adapt and modify therapy techniques to meet diverse student needs, including those with autism, developmental delays, or hearing impairments Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, progress notes, and service delivery logs Ensure compliance with IDEA, Article 7, and district regulations related to OT services Comply with all WLCSC requirements for school-based Medicaid claimingOther Duties: Participate in professional development activities, workshops, and continuing education to stay current with best practices in OT Supervise graduate student interns or clinical fellows (if applicable) Contribute to school initiatives and serve as a communicate resource for staff and administration Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special EducationJob Specifications:Education, Training, and Experience Required: Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program Eligibility to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Indiana Valid Indiana License in Occupational Therapy Experience working with children and adolescents in educational settings is preferredKnowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics: Displays dependability and punctuality Professional disposition and the ability to work with various staff and community members Ability to maintain confidentiality of information Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently Creative thinking and solution-focused mindset to identify and deliver services across multiple settings and environments In-depth knowledge of IDEA, Article 7, and evaluation processesWorking Conditions:Position works indoors in a typical school setting May work near others, often within a few feet May occasionally be exposed to noise levels that are distractingThe intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the types of duties and responsibilities that will be required of positions given this title and shall not be construed as a declaration of the specific duties and responsibilities of any particular position.
