Licensed Clinical Admissions Specialist (LICSW / LMHC) Meadow Hill Behavioral Health | Northampton Massachusetts Location: Mostly Remote with some flexibility to be at facility a few times a month - Massachusetts Licensed Employment Type:Flexible Schedule | Full-Time or Part-Time Considered Schedule: Weekdays, with flexibility based on admissions activity About Meadowhill Behavioral Health Meadowhill Behavioral Health is a residential treatment center (RTC) serving adolescents ages 12-16 who require a structured, supportive, and clinically focused therapeutic environment. We are seeking an experienced licensed mental health clinician to play an important role in our admissions and clinical assessment process. This position is ideal for someone with strong clinical judgment, experience evaluating adolescent mental health needs, and the ability to work collaboratively with families, referring providers, and our internal clinical team. Position Overview The Licensed Clinical Admissions Specialist will help evaluate prospective residents to determine whether Meadowhill Behavioral Health is an appropriate clinical placement for their individual needs. This position involves reviewing psychiatric and clinical histories, speaking directly with families and current treatment providers, identifying potential safety and treatment concerns, and collaborating with Meadowhill's Clinical Director and interdisciplinary team throughout the admissions decision-making process. Our admissions activity varies from day to day. Some days involve multiple referrals requiring timely assessments and coordination, while others are quieter. We are seeking someone who is organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing a fluctuating workload while remaining responsive to time-sensitive admissions needs. This is a clinical assessment and admissions-focused position, not a traditional ongoing therapy caseload. Key Responsibilities: Review and assess prospective adolescent residents, ages 12-18, for clinical appropriateness for residential treatment. Conduct phone or virtual conversations with parents and guardians to better understand each child's current challenges, psychiatric history, family concerns, and treatment needs. Communicate with current treating providers, including therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, hospital social workers, and other clinicians, with appropriate authorizations. Review psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, current medications, treatment histories, discharge summaries, psychological testing, and other relevant clinical documentation. Evaluate presenting symptoms, behavioral concerns, safety risks, level-of-care needs, and potential barriers to successful residential treatment. Identify when additional clinical information, provider consultation, or psychiatric review is needed before proceeding with admission. Collaborate closely with Meadowhill's Clinical Director and interdisciplinary team to evaluate whether the facility can safely and appropriately meet the prospective resident's needs. Provide clear, clinically informed recommendations regarding admission suitability and participate in collaborative admissions decisions in accordance with facility policies and authorized approval procedures. Communicate clinical findings and recommendations clearly and professionally to the appropriate team members. Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation of clinical assessments and admissions-related communications. Help support an efficient, thoughtful, and clinically responsible admissions process. Qualifications Required: Active, unrestricted Massachusetts LICSW (Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker) or LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor) license. Experience conducting behavioral health assessments, psychiatric evaluations or clinical intake assessments within the clinician's professional scope. Strong understanding of adolescent mental health diagnoses, behavioral challenges, safety considerations, and psychiatric levels of care. Ability to interpret clinical documentation and make sound, evidence-informed recommendations. Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with families, clinical providers, and interdisciplinary teams. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple referrals and changing priorities. Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable patient privacy requirements. Preferred: Experience working with adolescents in psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment centers, PHP, IOP, or similar behavioral health settings. Prior involvement in psychiatric admissions, clinical screening, intake evaluations, or level-of-care determinations. Familiarity with psychiatric medications and their implications for treatment planning, in collaboration with prescribing providers. Experience evaluating adolescents with complex psychiatric presentations, co-occurring conditions, or significant behavioral concerns. Familiarity with clinical risk assessment and the admission criteria for different levels of psychiatric care. Schedule & Work Arrangement We understand that clinical admissions do not always follow a predictable schedule. We are open to discussing full-time or part-time arrangements depending on the candidate's experience, availability, and the needs of the facility. The ideal candidate will have: Flexibility to accommodate varying daily referral volumes. Reliable availability during agreed-upon admissions coverage hours. Ability to respond promptly to time-sensitive clinical reviews and admissions questions. Comfort working independently while maintaining close communication with the clinical leadership team.
