## Outpatient Infusion RN### Category:Infusion Center### Department:Infusion Center### Status:Full Time### Schedule:Days### Description:**Minimum Entry Level Qualifications**1. **Experience and/or level of competency:*** **1-2 years of experience in a hospital or clinic setting. Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred. Basic computer knowledge.**2. **Academic Preparation:*** **Bachelor of Science in Nursing/ Associates of Science in Nursing*** **Current RN License in the State of Texas or Compact State*** **Current BLS -American Heart Association****Job Summary:**Provides direct and indirect patient care in the outpatient infusion center. Communicates with physicians/Nurse Manager/directors/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.**Specific Responsibilities:**1. Assess and evaluate therapies.2. Monitor therapies with regards to regulatory standards.3. Direct the documentation requirements to support charges associated with therapies.4. Coordinate organizational resources and interdepartmental program planning to ensure the efficient and effective operations of the outpatient infusion service line in coordination with Outpatient Infusion Coordinator.5. Patient responsibilities.6. Drug indication (package insert, approved resource for non-label usage i.e. NCCN guidelines).7. Medical guidelines.8. Provide strategic planning and direction for the development and enhancement of the outpatient infusion service line.9. Collaborate with the outpatient infusion service medical director and supporting staff.10. Provide ongoing coordination with the outpatient infusion service line with other services and activities of the hospital and the community in collaboration with the Outpatient Infusion Coordinator.11. Demonstrates ability to perform treatments and provide services to level licensure.12. Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition.13. Follows the five (5) medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors.14. Is engaged in the patient/customer satisfaction effort and looks for opportunities to ensure all customers have a satisfying experience.15.
