Events and Retail Marketing Sales Positions

Introduction The Division of Parks and Recreation oversees more than 26,000 acres in 17 state parks and the Brandywine Zoo. The Division protects cultural and historic resources and provides a wide variety of recreational facilities for Delawareans and visitors. Summary Statement Events and Retail Marketing Lead ($21.00) – Lead coordinator/keyholder for events for sales and marketing with the Division’s Retail Sales Program; works with stakeholders and venues on all event planning and logistics. Air Stream Driver ($17.00) – Transports, sets up, and operates Delaware State Parks’ 23-foot mobile Airstream retail trailer (“Dela-Wanderer”) at events throughout Delaware and occasionally at regional trade shows or off‑site promotional events. Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules and business needs. Essential Functions Safely tow and operate a state‑owned 23‑foot Airstream travel trailer and other state vehicles to and from designated event locations. Responsible for Delaware State Parks traveling retail store operations (requires travel). Assist Marketing and Retail Staff with daily duties as needed. Ensure the vehicle is stocked with retail items, marketing material, and giveaways, by communicating with management when stock is low. Speak publicly in front of groups or audiences. Complete PCI Compliance training. Assist with the set‑up of technology equipment (e.g., cradle points, laptops, printers, credit card devices, antenna, and other peripheral equipment) in the traveling retail trailer. Assist with transportation of trailer to and from DMV inspections and maintain state requirements. Set up location, retail/marketing items, table, chairs, banners, etc. Clean and maintain the RV. Lift heavy items and set up the RV. Have demonstrated RV transportation and set‑up experience. Understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Provide general customer service and park information to visitors. Perform other duties as required. Job Requirements Events and Retail Marketing Lead Possession of a valid driver’s license (not suspended, revoked, canceled, or disqualified). Experience with customer service. Experience operating point‑of‑sale (POS) systems and handling retail transactions. Experience coordinating events and planning staffing. Experience in inventory management and tracking. Experience towing or hauling large trailers, campers, or commercial‑style vehicles. Airstream Transporter Possession of a valid driver’s license (not suspended, revoked, canceled, or disqualified). Experience operating point‑of‑sale (POS) systems and handling retail transactions. Experience towing or hauling large trailers, campers, or commercial‑style vehicles.
