Traveling Site Safety Representative

job summary:
Our client is hiring Site Safety Representatives to join its team and provide hands-on safety leadership across large-scale construction projects. These positions will initially support a major LNG tank project in Emporia, VA for approximately 3-6 months before transitioning into traveling roles supporting projects across the company's footprint.

The team is seeking experienced construction safety professionals with 5+ years of experience and a CHST or OSHA 500 certification who are comfortable working directly in the field, including around elevated concrete operations. This is a permanent, direct-hire opportunity to join one of the nation's leading concrete contractors, work on complex high-profile projects, and build a long-term career supporting projects across multiple markets. Per diem is provided for qualifying travel assignments, and the company will make an effort to keep future assignments regional when possible.

responsibilities:

• Provide hands-on, highly visible field safety oversight across active construction operations, conducting inspections, identifying hazards, and ensuring corrective actions are addressed.

• Monitor elevated concrete construction, including decks, platforms, stair towers, fall protection, housekeeping, and other active work areas.

• Provide safety coverage for concrete pours and other critical activities, including occasional night-shift work as required.

• Partner with project leadership, supervision, and craft personnel to reinforce safe work practices; transition to future Baker projects after the initial Emporia assignment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of construction safety experience; large commercial, industrial, LNG, data center, concrete, or similarly complex project experience preferred.

• CHST or OSHA 500 required.

• Must be comfortable working at elevation and maintaining a hands-on field presence, with the flexibility to work overtime/night coverage and travel to Baker projects following the initial 3-6 month Emporia assignment.
