Assist clients with selecting frames. Measure customers for the size of eyeglasses and coordinate frames with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions. Prepare a work order for the optical laboratory containing instructions for grinding and mounting lenses in frames. Verify the exactness of finished lens spectacles. Adjust the frame and lens position to fit the client. May shape or reshape frames.Come where you can flourish!What You'll DoWork directly with customers to help meet all their eyewear needsHelp customers choose the best frames and lenses based on their prescription needs, face fit, personal style, and lifestyleExpertly explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers in termsVerify insurance eligibility and maximize savings for the customerTake and record measurements using proper measuring devices, adjust and fit eyewear, and execute these details with flawless accuracyCreate work orders, documentation, grinding instructions for lenses for lab technicians to ensure delivery of the proper lensCheck that the finished eyewear meets AVP's optical standards, as well as customer requirements and requestsMaintain records of customer prescriptions, work orders, and paymentsPerform adjustments and minor eyeglass repairWork with the practice team to make sure all customers receive exceptional serviceWork with sales representatives on maintaining suitable inventory to meet customer needsArrange and maintain display of optical merchandiseKeep current with trends, brands, eyewear, and lens technologyCollaborate with the practice team to form best practices for sales and customer service that can be implemented throughout the organizationWhat You BringDependable transportation required to travel to other offices as requiredMust be flexible with traveling to various locationsAbility to pay attention to detailAbility to maintain confidentialityThe ability to seek instruction in areas where he/she is not knowledgeableThe ability to recognize inconsistenciesHigh School diploma or GED, associate degree preferredPrefer completion of optician apprenticeship and certification through the American Board of Opticianry.Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without accommodation, including the ability to use power hand tools and lift a minimum of 70 lbs.Excellent verbal communication skillsWillingness to submit to a background check (drug screen for Ambulatory Surgery Centers only)Benefits & PerksWe've got you covered in more ways than one!
