Systems Security Specialist

Northwest Partners is supporting a Florida state healthcare organization in its search for an experienced Systems Security Specialist to support enterprise security operations, security engineering, email security, incident response, and threat hunting. This role will serve as a hands-on security resource responsible for administering, configuring, tuning, troubleshooting, and optimizing a broad range of enterprise security technologies.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience working across endpoint security, email security, identity, incident response, and threat detection environments. You will play a key role in investigating security events, strengthening security controls, improving detection capabilities, and helping protect a large, distributed enterprise environment.

This is a fully onsite position in Tallahassee, Florida.

• Administer, configure, troubleshoot, and optimize enterprise security platforms, including Palo Alto Cortex, Tanium, Microsoft Defender, Proofpoint, Tessian, and Abnormal Security.

• Manage and secure Exchange Online, including mail flow, security policies, and email security controls.

• Investigate and respond to security incidents involving phishing, business email compromise, malicious links and attachments, spoofing, and compromised accounts.

• Perform proactive threat hunting and develop, tune, and improve security detections and alerts.

• Support incident containment, endpoint isolation, indicator blocking, and remediation activities.

• Identify security gaps, configuration issues, and opportunities to strengthen the organization's security posture.

• Maintain security runbooks, SOPs, technical documentation, and operational reports.

• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, identity, and other IT teams on security initiatives and investigations.

• 7+ years of enterprise IT/cybersecurity experience.

• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Cortex and Tanium.

• Strong enterprise email security experience with Proofpoint, Tessian, and Abnormal Security.

• Experience administering Exchange Online.

• Experience with incident response and threat hunting.

• Experience with Entra ID/Azure AD, PowerShell, detection engineering, and security operations.

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, investigative, and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently in a large enterprise environment.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Must be able to work onsite in Tallahassee, FL.
