Description This position is PRN either 1 or 2 days each week. Talking Tadpoles is a pediatric private practice that provide speech, feeding and occupational therapy to children ages 6 months to 20 years of age. We partner with families in an effort to help them lead more fulfilling lives through achievement of goals. Professional/Leadership Opportunities 401(k) at 1 year of employment Choice of schedule: Monday /Wednesday (8 hour days), Tuesday/Friday (8 hour days), or Friday (one 8 hour day weekly) As a Pediatric SLP in Talking Tadpoles you will have the opportunity to work in a clinic setting with all the advantages of being led by a therapist-focused team that values empathy, collaboration and personal growth. You will have the benefit of weekly individual meetings with a lead who understands the wins and challenges you face each day. You are able to focus on aspects of being a therapist that you love: working with children and collaborating with other like-minded professionals while we provide support each step of the way. Internally, we have specialty programs to help clinicians grow their skills in advanced areas of the field including, AAC and feeding. We promote internally into clinical and operational leadership roles and are committed to developing the skills of team members to create pathways to management or leadership. The ideal Speech-Language Pathologist candidate is a self-starter who is dedicated and passionate about the therapy they provide. The Speech-Language Pathologist position reports to the Location Lead unless otherwise directed. Requirements: Perform patient care and related activities in accordance with best practice/evidence-based practice guidelines, while following an individualized plan of care based upon evaluation/reassessment findings according to clinical guidelines Completes patient evaluations and reassessments in accordance with hospital and department guidelines Communicates effectively with patient/family/therapists/physicians and other health care professionals to promote quality patient care Ability to meet productivity and documentation deadlines Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in spoken and written English, including clinical documentation, patient education, and collaboration with team members Ability to use computers, tablets, and electronic health record systems for documentation, scheduling, and communication. Ability to maintain professional boundaries, ethical conduct, and confidentiality at all time Ability to work effectively with children who may exhibit behavioral, emotional, or sensory regulation challenges Performs patient care and related activities within the scope of their training and responsibilities, demonstrating basic clinical competencies Provides instruction/education to patients and families/caregivers with accurate and thorough information consistently to patients and families concerning their participation in the continuity of care Assesses patient and family needs regarding their level of understanding, ability to assimilate information and the most desirable method of teaching Maintains a current awareness and participates in office quality activities Deliver competent and skilled treatment for speech, language, and communication disorders using best practice/evidence-based practice guidelines and develops an individualized plan of care based upon evaluation/reassessment findings Completes evaluations and reassessments in accordance with clinic guidelines and established guidelines Provides instruction/education to patients and families/caregivers with accurate and thorough information consistently to patients and families concerning their participation in the continuity of care Performs patient care and related activities within the scope of their training and responsibilities, demonstrating basic clinical competencies Communicates effectively with patient/family/therapists/administrators and other stakeholders to promote quality services Assesses patient and family needs regarding their level of understanding, ability to assimilate information and the most desirable method of teaching Provides accurate and thorough information consistently to families concerning their participation in the patient's continuity of care Documents patient information in Electronic Medical Record according to office policies within established guidelines Documents patient information in Electronic Medical Record according to office policies and clinic guidelines and established timelines Participates in staff development and attends health, safety and training in-services and other obligatory activities Ability to assist patients with transfers, positioning, or mobility as appropriate Performs other essential functions as needed, including minimal supervision once trained Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations in all interactions Ability to adhere to safety protocols and infection-control procedures Performs other essential functions as needed, including minimal supervision once trained SLP-A supervision as needed by the Practice Additional Job Requirements: Ability to arrive to assigned locations on time and maintain regular, reliable attendance. Ability to work scheduled hours Meticulous attention to detail over the course of the workday Ability to sustain physical and mental activity throughout a scheduled workday Ability to remain calm and professional in emotionally charged or high-stimulation environments Ability to lift and carry up to 30–40 pounds occasionally Ability to maintain prolonged standing or sitting Ability to maintain required licensure, certifications, and eligibility to work in the United States throughout employment Ability to sit, stand, bend, twist, and reach throughout the workday Other duties as assigned. Position Requirements: Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology and current Texas license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist Must be articulate, courteous, and supportive in dealing with clinical and administrative colleagues, patients and parents with ability to honor confidentiality Two years pediatric clinical experience preferred Bilingual preferred Feeding experience preferred Medical specialties: Pediatrics Schedule: 8 hour shift Day shift Monday to Friday Work setting: Clinic In-person Outpatient Private practice #J-18808-Ljbffr
