Electrical Engineer

The Electrical Engineer will assemble, test, troubleshoot, and modify electrical equipment and systems under the supervision of the electrical manager, aiming to develop and maintain advanced applied electrical engineering methods. The Engineer will be involved in maintaining existing equipment and developing new equipment and processes as necessary. Key Result Accountabilities Assembles, tests, and troubleshoots motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, solenoids, hydraulic, pneumatic and other electrical equipment and systems Modifies electrical systems to correct functional deviations Knowledge of and ability to program and troubleshoot PLC‑s Diagnoses causes of electrical or mechanical malfunctions or failures of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective maintenance Develops wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications for system or equipment modifications or expansions and directs personnel performing routine installation and maintenance duties Plans, directs, and records periodic electrical testing, and recommends or initiates modification or replacement of equipment that fails to meet acceptable operating standards Oversees new production installations and projects Identifies potential areas of product and process improvement; recommends and assists with development of appropriate solutions Involved in the development of new methods to improve product quality and automation Performs other related duties as assigned Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Experience in PLC‑s preferred, HMI, SCADA, and networking Experience with AC and DC motor drive systems Knowledge of power distribution systems, 480 V to 25 kV Understanding of NFPA 70E and OSHA requirements Process control and automation experience Fluent in AutoCAD Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent analytical and math skills Strong attention to detail Proven ability to identify, assess and solve problems Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software program Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times Must be able to travel Ability to work 50+ hours per week when necessary; must be on‑call and work weekends when necessary Behaviors Team Player: Works well as a member of a group Innovative: Consistently introduces new ideas and demonstrates original thinking Detail Oriented: Capable of carrying out a given task with all necessary details Dedicated: Devoted to a task or purpose with loyalty or integrity Benefits Perryman employees receive a range of benefits that, when totaled, add up to a premium plan that reaches beyond all the others.
