Overview Position Summary: As a Meat Department Lead you will drive sales in your area and supervise your team of hourly associates to deliver to our members more of what they love, for less. You will model expertise in Meat and work collaboratively with other team leaders to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations. Responsibilities Be a Team Leader: supervise the team within the meat department to deliver on the business plan and contribute to the overall success of the club by communicating the goals of the department, executing company programs, adhering to policies, and being an advocate for the member, the associate, and the company; work collaboratively with other team leaders to ensure the total club is meeting the members' expectations. Be an Expert: maintain in-depth knowledge of the business on the floor and backroom operations, product updates, and product specifications; ensure the meat department meets company and regulatory standards for quality, inventory, production, equipment usage, safety, sanitation, and compliance; share knowledge and prioritize training for the team to understand item specifications and utilize approved equipment for high‑volume products; engage with members to help them make the right protein selection. Be a Techie: leverage digital tools to plan for and drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement; use handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, training, and product quality; adopt new tools and encourage others to use them. Be an Owner: drive the business results with a commitment to operational excellence; maintain a neat, clean, and safe work area in the meat department; utilize digital tools for forecasting, planning, and production; facilitate product inventory and ordering; ensure appropriate staffing levels and accurate audit and compliance standards; ensure meat and seafood equipment and storage systems are in working order and merchandise is produced and displayed according to the layout plan. The actual rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances, based on schedule, facility, season, or work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable.
