Senior Space Vehicle Design and Integration Engineer

Senior Space Vehicle Design and Integration Engineer Location: El Segundo, California. Responsibilities Manage and direct the Structural and Mechanical Space Vehicle Engineering Design teams including Structures, Analysis, Thermal, Dynamics, Mechanical, Propulsion, Solar Array, Mass Properties, and Blankets throughout requirements, design, verification, and production support. Develop Common Non‑Recurring Product Definition (C‑NRPD) plans and ensure execution of requirements, design layouts, analysis, testing, and assembly integration to meet program milestones. Lead system‑level trades and ensure the vehicle design meets physical, mechanical, environmental, payload, power, propulsion, thermal, communications, and attitude control system requirements. Define structural, mechanical, and environmental design and integration requirements for flight and non‑flight hardware. Lead design and manufacturing integration requirements using DFMAT principles; oversee Digital Mock‑Up (DMU) and Virtual Manufacturing (VM) simulation reviews. Lead the layout reviews and program‑level General Arrangement meetings and resolve design integration issues between segment IPTs. Approve Interface Control Drawings/Models, including Moving Mechanical Assemblies (MMAs), and oversee the Critical Clearance Control Plan (CCCP). Support and approve manufacturing integration plans; support program milestone reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, IDR, etc.) and Gate Closure/Lien Closures. Support design non‑conformances and resolutions during production; provide lessons learned and continuous improvements. Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs. Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace/Aeronautical, or Materials Sciences). Minimum 20 years of related work experience with at least 5 years leading Structural and Mechanical Space Vehicle Engineering Design teams. 5+ years of experience on space, launch vehicle, or satellite programs. 5+ years of experience in technical or engineering roles. Preferred Qualifications 10+ years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with multi‑disciplined development in Space structural and mechanical design, Space System integration and test, and Space Systems Engineering. Security Clearance Active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance required (U.S. Citizenship required; clearance active within past 24 months). Shift First shift (Day). Benefits & Pay Competitive base pay: $202,300 – $273,700, plus variable compensation opportunities.
