(based off tack tests and experience)/ppShift: Monday Friday 6a to 4:30pm; occasional OT on Saturday/ppWe are seeking detail oriented and experienced Structural Steel Fitters/Fabricators for our growing Steel Fabrication team in Richmond, VA. The Structural Steel Fitters/Fabricators will fit and assemble structural framework, components, and materials such as angle iron, plates, WF sections, and other steel shapes and components./ppRequirements:/pulliMust pass all tack test FCAW/liliSuperior level layout and math skills/liliComplete understanding of pre-heat functions/liliAbility to set-up and use track torch is required/liliWorks in compliance with safety policies and procedures/liliMust be flexible to work any schedule needed including overtime and Saturdays as needed/li/ulpJob Duties:/pulliLays out, positions, aligns, and fits together fabricated parts of structural metal products according to blueprint and layout specifications/liliSafely operate overhead cranes/liliProperly fit mill to bear parts such as stiffeners, base plates, and other components/liliOperate cutting and heating torches/liliCheck camber, sweep tolerances of beams and other steel shapes/liliEffectively make necessary corrections per pertinent codes and specifications, with no supervision/liliAccurately perform complex heat corrections while adhering to procedures with no supervision/liliSet up complex jigs or assemblies/liliIdentify potential hazards and make necessary corrections/liliInterpret complex documents including blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals/liliAbility to look at weld symbols and properly prep joints per WPS standards/liliProduce finished product that meets recognized standards, codes, and customer expectations by maintaining quality procedures and practices/liliPerforms daily cleaning and maintenance of area/liliPerforms other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor including but not limited to, cleaning, trash scrap removal, and other production related jobs/li/ulpBenefits:/pulliHealth/dental/vision/disability insurance/liliPaid time off/liliPaid holidays/lili401k with employer match and 100% vesting from the beginning/liliPaid weekly/li/ul/div
