Medical Laboratory Scientist I – Tazewell, VA (On-Call) Sign‑On Bonus: $2,000.00 for external candidates. Shift Availability: Must be open to both day and night shifts, including weekends. Salary offers are based on relevant skills, training, experience, education, and certifications. Successful candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonus compensation. Benefits Quest Diagnostics offers a 401(k) plan with eligibility after one month and a fully vested company match up to 5% of pay. On‑call employees are also eligible for a 401(k) pre‑tax and/or Roth IRA with company match up to 5% after 12 months of service. Responsibilities Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results. Maintain records that demonstrate proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens. Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures. Review and release test results. Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and other safety guidelines as described in their respective policies. Follow laboratory established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within acceptable performance levels. Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting, correct them or immediately notify the senior technologist or supervisor. Qualifications BS in Medical Technology preferred; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or Associate’s degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493. Experience 1 year clinical experience in high‑complexity testing preferred.
