Manager Environmental Services

Job Description: VALLEY MEDICAL CENTER – Environmental Services Manager Responsible for the ongoing, effective operation of environmental services and continual improvement of all services provided by the department. Prerequisites: Bachelor's Degree required; additional four years of relevant experience may substitute. Minimum two years of work experience as a lead or manager over housekeeping personnel in a hospital, hotel, or long-term care facility. Successful completion of a Housekeeping Training Course (T-CHEST, T-CSCT, or equivalent) preferred. CHESP certification preferred. Qualifications: Ability to manage staff effectively to maintain consistent cleanliness in conformance with established procedures and standards. Applying cleaning methods across surgical areas, inpatient units, clinics, and specialty areas (MRI, pharmacy, etc.). Training staff in safe and correct cleaning procedures. Operating floor care equipment safely; knowledge of emergency equipment for floods, disasters, fires. Interest in improving departmental procedures for efficiency and effectiveness. Flexibility to work at all medical center locations and any shift. Computer/PC experience. Basic analytical skills. Excellent customer service. Reading, writing, and following verbal and written instructions. Performance Responsibilities: Manage daily activities: oversee all cleaning aspects, ensure staff coverage, dispatch staff, monitor progress, provide reports, resolve problems, and ensure regulatory compliance. Manage staff: create monthly schedules, process timecards, monitor attendance, enforce policies, conduct daily huddles, inspect work, document incidents, recommend discipline, and perform evaluations. Act as department liaison: conduct weekly rounds, listen to feedback, demonstrate diplomacy, resolve complaints, and communicate with other managers and leaders. Improve department performance: model best practices, assess metrics, develop action plans, lead process improvement initiatives, report problems, and meet financial objectives. Service excellence: follow customer service standards, demonstrate communication skills, assist patients/families, maintain professionalism, uphold privacy and safety policies, and nurture quality metrics. #J-18808-Ljbffr
