Experience in food, chemical, pharmaceutical, consumer products, or other manufacturing environments can translate well. This is not a role where you'll be buried in a traditional accounting function. You'll work directly with plant operations, sales, finance, and senior management while gaining visibility into how a manufacturing business actually makes money. Why This Opportunity? Long-term career path with an international company Opportunity to grow beyond traditional cost accounting into broader finance, operations, or management roles Work directly with plant leadership and operations teams Gain exposure to pricing, margins, profitability, and business strategy Work across multiple manufacturing facilities and product lines Opportunity to improve costing processes and make an actual impact Exposure to North American operations and a manager based in Canada Regular interaction with sales and senior management $100,000+ compensation plus annual bonus What You'll Do Develop and maintain standard and actual product costs across multiple product lines Analyze raw materials, labor, overhead, and other manufacturing costs Perform cost variance analysis and identify the key drivers impacting profitability Support recommended selling prices based on cost structures and margin targets Partner with the sales team on costing, pricing, and margin analysis Participate in weekly reviews of pricing strategy Work closely with production teams at two manufacturing facilities to understand processes and cost drivers Visit manufacturing plants to gain firsthand knowledge of operations and validate costing assumptions Provide plant management with cost analysis, reporting, and recommendations Identify inefficiencies and help develop improved costing processes Use data and analysis to provide insights that support business decisions Take on additional analytical and process improvement projects as you grow in the organization Who We're Looking For You don't necessarily need a traditional accounting career path. We're most interested in someone who has manufacturing experience, understands costs, is analytical, and wants to grow. You could be a great fit if you are: A Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, Plant Accountant, Financial Analyst, or similar professional with 2+ years of manufacturing cost experience A 2-4 year professional currently working for a large or global manufacturing company who is ready for more responsibility Someone who recently earned an MBA and wants to leverage your manufacturing/accounting experience into a broader career An accounting or finance professional who took a non-traditional career path but has developed strong manufacturing cost knowledge Someone with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or another relevant discipline combined with applicable cost experience Experienced in a manufacturing environment such as food, chemical, pharmaceutical, consumer products, or other process/discrete manufacturing Highly analytical and comfortable working with large amounts of data Advanced in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and modeling Comfortable working directly with plant and operations personnel A strong communicator who can explain financial and costing information to non-financial stakeholders Someone who enjoys finding ways to improve processes rather than simply maintaining the status quo The Bigger Picture The goal isn't simply to fill a Cost Accounting position.
