Outside Sales Representative – Equipment Sales

We are Apex Rentals and we are hiring for our tractor dealership arm High Desert Tractor. We also have these opportunities in our Hesperia location covering San Bernardino County.

Pay includes a base salary plus commission based on sales volume.

As our dealership continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced, motivated, and relationship-driven Outside Sales Representative to develop and grow our Los Angeles County and surrounding-area territory.

The Opportunity

This is a true outside sales position offering a base salary plus commission, a company vehicle, and the opportunity to increase your earnings through sales performance.

You will spend your time in the field meeting prospective customers, visiting job sites and businesses, developing relationships, identifying equipment needs, and managing opportunities from the initial contact through the completed sale.

The primary focus will be representing our Kubota equipment lineup across the homeowner, construction, and agricultural markets. You will also sell aerial equipment and attachments to meet the diverse needs of our customers.

This is an opportunity for an experienced salesperson who enjoys being on the road, developing new business, building a territory, and being rewarded for results. Rather than waiting for customers to come to the dealership, you will take an active role in creating opportunities and growing sales.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop your territory: Identify and pursue new business opportunities throughout Los Angeles County and surrounding areas.
• Proactively visit customers: Make regular field visits to prospective and existing customers, including homeowners, contractors, construction companies, landscapers, agricultural operations, property managers, and other equipment users.
• Manage the entire sales process: Take ownership from prospecting and the initial customer visit through needs assessment, equipment demonstrations, quotations, financing discussions, negotiation, closing, delivery coordination, and follow-up.
• Represent the Kubota product line: Sell Kubota tractors, excavators, track loaders, and other equipment to customers in the homeowner, construction, and agricultural markets.
• Sell complementary products: Develop sales of aerial equipment and attachments that meet customers' equipment and application needs.
• Build long-term customer relationships: Understand each customer's business and recommend equipment and solutions that help them succeed.
• Grow existing accounts: Maintain contact with current customers, identify additional equipment needs, generate repeat business, and develop referrals.
• Maintain a strong sales pipeline: Track prospect visits, follow up on open opportunities, maintain accurate sales records, and work toward established sales goals.
• Coordinate with dealership departments: Work closely with parts, service, management, and other team members to provide a seamless customer experience before and after the sale.
• Represent High Desert Tractor professionally: Build a reputation for honesty, responsiveness, dependability, and exceptional customer service.

Qualifications and Experience

• Previous sales experience is required. Outside sales, territory development, or business-to-business sales experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience selling construction equipment, agricultural equipment, aerial equipment, equipment rentals, trucks, automotive products, or related products is a plus.
• Strong prospecting, communication, relationship-building, negotiation, and closing skills.
• A proven ability to develop new business and maintain productive customer relationships.
• Self-motivation, organization, and the discipline to manage a territory independently.
• A customer-first mindset with a commitment to finding the right solutions rather than simply making a sale.
• A competitive attitude and the desire to achieve sales goals and grow personal earnings.
• A valid driver's license and the ability to travel regularly throughout Los Angeles County and surrounding areas.
