Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 17 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Job Details Unit: Acute Care 2 (MedSurg) Unit Type: Medical Surgical (Med Surg) Shift Length: 12 hours Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Shift Notes: 7 PM to 7 AM Job Requirements Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, including at least 1 travel assignment. Required Certifications: BLS and NIHSS (must be from AHA). Experience with Meditech EMR is preferred but not required. Patient Care Information Bed Capacity: 44 beds with a staff of 40. Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:5, possibly 1:6 during both day and night shifts. Nurse Aides Available: Yes, ratios are generally 1:8, possibly 1:10, with sitters provided. Additional Considerations Shifts start between 6:45 AM and 7:15 AM, all shifts are 12 hours. Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend. Holiday Availability: As needed. Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue. Floating: Yes, may float to all acute care and cardiovascular units to care for medical or emergency care patient holds. Orientation General Orientation: 1 week (includes EMR training). Floor Specific Orientation: 2 days.
