Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia recovery care for a high-acuity patient population, including ICU-level boarders awaiting inpatient beds
• Monitor and manage patients recovering from complex surgical procedures including kidney transplant, neuro interventional radiology, and bariatric surgery
• Perform frequent and thorough neurological, hemodynamic, and airway assessments, escalating care promptly when indicated
• Manage vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and invasive monitoring as required for ICU-acuity boarder patients
• Collaborate closely with anesthesia and surgical teams to communicate patient status changes and coordinate care transitions
• Care for pediatric post-operative patients in accordance with age-appropriate standards and protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Prior PACU experience is required
• ICU background with demonstrated experience managing high-acuity patients (e.g., SICU, Transplant ICU, or Neuro ICU)
• Pediatric nursing experience required
• Proficiency with vents, vasoactive drips, and invasive hemodynamic monitoring
• Flu vaccine required — no exemptions or exceptions

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for post-operative kidney transplant patients, including strict I&O monitoring, electrolyte management, and early recognition of graft complications
• Familiarity recovering patients following neuro IR procedures such as thrombectomy or aneurysm coiling, including tight BP management and access site monitoring
• Experience managing bariatric post-operative patients with awareness of airway risk, OSA, and respiratory depression
• Comfort with CPAP/BiPAP and reintubation preparation in the post-anesthesia setting
