Sr Consultant, Release Management, Omnium Services

Job Title Sr. Consultant, Release Management, HFS – Individual Contributor Summary The Senior Consultant will work within Northern Trust’s Hedge Fund Services (HFS) to lead release management activities for the Omnium Platform. The role requires a self‑starter with strong technical background and a proven track record of solving business problems in a fast‑paced technology environment. Responsibilities Provide release‑related support for multiple technology teams. Confirm that fixed versions are created in Azure DevOps and that user stories are associated with the fixed version. Coordinate with Release Management and Omnium Support teams for code deployments into INT and Production environments. Ensure that all test plan and approval/sign‑off documentation required for production releases are uploaded into the Release Management tool. Plan and coordinate pre‑release and in‑flight release activities, including creating release runbooks, facilitating preparation calls with key stakeholders, and providing regular status updates. Track release progress, manage risks, and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality. Complete post‑release activities such as closure of INT and PROD ServiceNow requests and Release Management UI (Bi‑Frost) package cleanup. Demonstrate leadership throughout testing cycles; lead meetings, drive agendas, set expectations, hold team accountable, and follow up on takeaways. Participate in monthly release retrospectives to identify lessons learned and foster continuous improvement. Identify broken processes and recommend improvements to streamline delivery execution. Use sound judgement to escape issues appropriately and timely, including solution options and associated impacts. Demonstrate critical thinking to anticipate opportunities and resolve challenges or escalations. Build collaborative relationships with high emotional intelligence and internal stakeholders. Operate as a self‑starter, lead peers, and consult with shared services teams across HFS & Northern Trust to solve issues. Qualifications Proven track record of excellent coordination execution. High attention to detail and acts with urgency. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and with accuracy. Ability to run a meeting and drive an agenda. Ability to lead employees from various functions to coordinate work across multiple workstreams. Highly flexible and adaptable to change; capable of being a change agent. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Client relationship focused (internal relationships). Excellent client‑service skills and high emotional intelligence (EQ). Experience & Skills College or university degree and relevant proven work experience. Minimum 3‑10+ years of experience; Agile, project coordination or release management preferred. Experience with technology, financial services, or alternative asset management is a plus. Familiarity with Agile tools such as Atlassian and/or Azure DevOps, or willingness to learn. Familiarity with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio). Familiarity with project coordination tools and concepts. Ability to utilize formal Agile methodology and frameworks (Kanban, Scrum) for delivery of applications. Salary & Benefits Salary range: $83,100 – $141,300 USD (base pay). A discretionary bonus program may also be available.
