The Unit
The Allegheny General 9A Oncology Unit is a 32 bed telemetry unit specializing in the comprehensive care of patients with oncology-related diagnoses. The unit's dedicated team provides a wide range of services, including chemotherapy administration, palliative care, hospice, and management of general medical needs that may arise alongside the patient's cancer diagnosis. Nurses on 9A receive specialized chemotherapy training and certification to ensure the safe and effective delivery of these treatments. The unit and staff are committed to providing compassionate and holistic care to patients and their families throughout their cancer journey. In addition, the unit is equipped to handle overflow patients from general medicine, surgery, and telemetry, ensuring they receive attentive monitoring and personalized care.

Job Summary
Responsible and accountable for a designated patient population for the purpose of providing care based upon enactment of the nursing process.
Responsibilities
Demonstrates clinical assessment skills and care planning skills. Provides safe and effective care for the age population served according to regulatory requirements. Professionally directs and manages the activities of the patient care delivery by the team members. Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team for the plan of care from admission through discharge. Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture and willingness to learn
Qualifications
Minimum
- Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
- CPR certification
