Overview Douglass CLT is a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to ensuring lasting affordability of housing, local small business, and other public assets through community ownership and stewardship. The Engagement VISTA volunteer will support the organization’s mission by developing strategies to increase memberships, foster community partnerships, enhance volunteer engagement, and improve communication with members, allies, and the broader community. Responsibilities Develop and implement member recruitment and renewal tools to increase engagement. Improve outreach and communication systems for better member participation. Strengthen partnership tracking and support the structure and regularity of board and member subcommittees. Create resources that help lessees understand opportunities for participation in building associations and in Douglass CLT governance. Assist in developing multi‑directional communications that solicit input from and report out to members, allied organizations, and the broader community. Bolster Douglass CLT’s ability to secure lasting affordability and deliver quality stewardship for low‑income residents of DC. Qualifications Some college education or equivalent experience. Minimum age of 18. Proficiency in recruitment, writing/editing, community organization, communications, and public speaking.
