Position Overview - CDL Class B Driver (Explosives Delivery & Service) - Zephyr, TXWe are thrilled to present an opportunity for a CDL Class B Driver within our Commercial team. This hands-on position involves the safe operation of our bulk trucks (Mobile Manufacturing Units) to deliver and install blasting products for clients in mining, quarry, and construction sectors. This role is vital in ensuring safe and efficient blasting operations through equipment handling, product delivery, preventative maintenance, and outstanding customer service.
This hybrid role consists of approximately 40% driving and 60% physical fieldwork, requiring outdoor work in various environments and weather conditions while loading, delivering, and installing bulk explosive products at customer locations.
Additionally, you will operate equipment to provide blasting products and deliver exceptional service to our clients. Success in this role demands a strong commitment to safety, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks while addressing customer operational needs. We prioritize safety and aim to conduct all operations in a responsible and environmentally friendly manner.
Work Schedule- Monday through Friday
- Local driving (2-3 hours)
- Early morning starts around 4 AM - 5 AM
- Approximately 10-12 hours of work per day
- Overtime may be required
- Up to 10% overnight travel may be necessary
- This hybrid position includes about 40% driving and 60% physical tasks.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking and replenishing fluid levels.
- Safely connect and disconnect trailers.
- Operate emulsion tanker trucks and box trucks as part of daily duties.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements when handling, storing, and using raw materials and hazardous goods.
- Implement waste reduction and control practices to minimize environmental impact.
- Promptly report any unusual incidents or accidents.
- Engage in daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings to foster a safe and collaborative work environment.
- At least one year of experience in driving and/or material handling is preferred.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations is required.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- High attention to detail and basic math skills for managing daily inventory tasks.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects, daily tasks, and urgent situations to maintain efficiency.
- Work is conducted outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 60 pounds and carrying over 50 pounds of products or materials.
- Requires the ability to load products, pull large hoses, fill drilled holes, and climb on and off trucks.
- Frequent shoveling of gravel to fill drilled holes throughout the day.
- Regular pushing and pulling while working with equipment.
- Other physical activities include frequent bending, squatting, and general mobility throughout the workday.
- Valid Class B CDL is required (Class A is a plus).
- Tanker endorsement is preferred.
- Hazmat endorsement is preferred.
- Willingness to obtain necessary endorsements—support will be provided.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Compensation- Hourly Pay Rate: $25-28
- Signing Bonus: $4,500
- (Salary will be determined based on the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market alignment.)
