Job TitleRegistered Nurse-Outpatient Mental HealthJob DescriptionThe Registered Nurse-Outpatient Mental Health duties include but are not limited to:Provide patient-centered and recovery-oriented care and maintain self-awareness while caring for patients living with MH conditions.Actively participate in care coordination, liaising with inpatient Mental Health units to support continuity of care; engage in interdisciplinary treatment team huddles and meetings; and respond to psychiatric and medical emergencies as directed.Report and address safety concerns, document nursing triage assessments, risk screens, clinical reminders, and patient plan of care, according to facility policy.Facilitate warm hand-offs, nurse-led psychoeducational groups; use therapeutic communication techniques, practice de-escalation techniques, utilize recovery-oriented language, and provide Veterans, their family members, and/or significant others with education regarding their illness, medications, and treatment plan.Total Rewards PackageVA offers a comprehensive total rewards package:Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VAFederal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territoryMonday-Friday; 7:30am-4:00pmNot AvailableThis is not a virtual position.Not AuthorizedFormer EDRP participants ineligible to apply for incentive.
