Purpose of Position: Coordinates total nursing care for patients. Participates in patient and family teaching. Demonstrates leadership abilities by working cooperatively with nursing and other patient care team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the critical care setting.

Practices with a Customer Service approach to all activities. Cares for patients utilizing the nursing process. Provides care as part of the interdisciplinary team. Utilizes internal and external resources. Provides effective patient/family teaching. Documents according to entity/department guidelines. Administers medications safely. Provides care according to best practice standards of care in nursing. Identifies signs and symptoms of neglect/abuse and reports as required by law. Cares for terminally ill patient and family. Manages the patient with pain. Utilizes chemical and physical restraints as per policy. Utilizes techniques of time management effectively. Provides care respective of patient's advance directives. Maintains appropriate licenses, certifications, registrations required to perform duties of their designated role/position. Addresses age-specific needs of infants, toddlers, school age, adolescents, adults, older adults. Assists Anesthesiologist per protocol. Performs cardiovascular assessment. Performs neurological assessment. Provides care for patient receiving epidural anesthesia. Demonstrates knowledge of anesthesia agents and adjuncts (central nerve blocks/conductive blocks, and regional anesthesia/local blocks). Takes measures to provide thermoregulation and intervenes appropriately when identifying malignant hyperthermia. Manages patients with intravenous therapy. Demonstrates knowledge and skill in hemodynamic monitoring of patient. Performs pre-op assessments. Provides care for patient requiring intubations and mechanical ventilation. Uses Meditech appropriately and accurately. Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications: Registered Nurse, OR – Grade: FHMNA30, Job Code: 00330 • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English • Graduate of a School of Nursing • (RN) - Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts • Minimum of 1 year of current acute care Operating Room RN experience • (BLS) - Current Basic Life Support certification

Schedule Details: 64/80 PP (32/40 FLEX Hours Per Week), Rotating Days/Eves, Shifts: 7:15a-3:15p, 10a-6p, Rotating On-Call for Weeknights, Weekends & Holidays (On-Call Outline: Monday – Friday: 6p-7a, and Saturday, Sunday & Holidays: 7a-7a) *Sign-On Bonus Eligible!
