Sterile Processing Technician

Sterile Processing Technician at Petaluma Valley Hospital in Petaluma, CA. This position is part-time and will work 8-hour, variable shifts.

Responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilizing of reusable instruments and trays used hospital wide. Pulls instruments and supplies for OR case carts. Demonstrates a clear understanding of decontamination procedures and risk of cross contamination, aseptic technique, sterilization methods, and sterility assurance. Is aware of the importance of strict attention to detail in all areas including but not limited to the functionality of all instrumentation.

Required Qualifications:

• Within 1 year of hire: National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association, or
• Within 1 year of hire: National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution
• 1 year of SPD or surgical scrub tech experience.
• Experience in related field.
