Division:American Buildings Company - IL Other Available Locations:N/A Teammates in this position have averaged $85,000 annually. Bonus Type: This position is eligible for weekly and annual bonuses. All Nucor teammates qualify for profit sharing. Annual Profit Sharing Bonus Percentage (5 year average) = 20% of eligible earnings Compensation for this position has been averaging $25-$37/hour on our bonus structure. Basic Job Functions: American Buildings — Illinois is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Roll form Fabricator Teammate. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Perform various fit-ups, tackling, and welding operations on structural assemblies Weld in accordance with all applicable standards and procedures Install stiffeners, brackets, face plates, and components using prints Utilize clamps, jigs, tape, squares, air gouging arc, torches, and plasma systems Prevent warping and misalignment through proper welding techniques Operate overhead cranes safely and efficiently Maintain required production and quality documentation Inspect and report equipment issues, defects, or abnormal conditions Maintain a clean, organized work area Follow all safety and quality standards Support team needs and contributes to a high-performing culture Schedule: Monday-Friday 5AM-3PM with possible Saturdays if we are not on pace for goal Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Preferred Qualifications: Ability to read and interpret weld symbols Experience using an arc gouger Experience in material handling Welding background with understanding of standard practices Confidence operating overhead cranes Minimum 1 year’s fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment Preferred Experience: Cold-Form / Light Gauge Fabrication Experience welding and fabricating cold-formed (light gauge) components, including materials as light as 16 gauge and thinner Ability to control heat input and distortion to prevent burn-through and warping Experience with MIG (GMAW) welding for thin material applications Ability to read prints specific to clips, secondary members, and light structural components Strong fit-up and weld sequencing to maintain tight tolerances Experience with fixturing and clamping for repeatable, high-volume production High attention to detail in finish quality and alignment About Us: Nucor Buildings Group (NBG), a Nucor company, is one of North America’s largest manufacturers of metal building systems.
