ABOUT THE ROLE
Lease Crutcher Lewis is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex commercial construction projects in the Portland market. This is a high-impact operations leadership role for someone who understands the planning, coordination, and client partnership required to deliver projects across sectors such as mixed-use, high-rise, civic, multifamily, senior living, office, hospitality, and other complex commercial environments.
In this role, you may take on one large, multi-year, multi-million-dollar project or several small to mid-sized projects, guiding work from early sales and preconstruction through construction execution, closeout, and warranty.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background managing commercial projects across one or more market sectors and is comfortable working with owners, design partners, trade partners, and project teams on large, complex, occupied, or technically demanding projects.
You will also help lead, develop, and mentor project teams, promote professional growth, and represent Lewis through strong client relationships, operational excellence, and a commitment to safety, quality, and company values.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- You build trust quickly with commercial clients by understanding their operational priorities, project goals, technical requirements, and the unique demands of sectors such as mixed-use, high-rise, civic, multifamily, and senior living.
- You lead projects with clarity, discipline, and ownership, keeping teams aligned around safety, quality, schedule, budget, risk management, and client expectations.
- You anticipate challenges early, communicate proactively, and help teams solve complex issues before they impact project outcomes.
- You develop strong project teams by setting clear expectations, coaching team members, and creating an environment where people can do their best work.
- You strengthen Lewis’ reputation in the commercial market through excellent project delivery, professional relationships, and a consistent commitment to doing the right thing.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Marketing and Business Development
- Act as a leader in assigned marketing and business development activities. Develop and maintain close working relationships with clients.
- Lead pursuit strategy for commercial opportunities, including mixed-use, high-rise, civic, multifamily, senior living, and other market sectors, through proposal content, interview preparation, and client engagement.
Project Management
- Provide leadership and oversight for complex commercial construction projects, including mixed-use, high-rise, civic, multifamily, senior living, office, hospitality, and other project types.
- Lead the bid/budget process that includes reviewing the bid documents, owner contracts, bid personnel assignments, and supervising bid day activities.
- Provide direction for estimating and preconstruction, including coordination of purchasing, operations, phasing, logistics, and constructability planning for assigned projects.
- Follow projects from preconstruction through close-out and warranty periods.
- Monitor cost reports, labor resources, schedules, safety programs, quality expectations, and project risks.
- Coordinate peer reviews and project performance audits on assigned projects.
- Deliver successful project outcomes, including financial performance, schedule commitments, quality standards, safety expectations, and strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, trade partners, and project stakeholders.
- Review, approve and execute owner change orders, and when necessary, review and approve subcontract and supply agreement drafts.
- Supervise production and maintenance of construction schedules in addition to the compilation of the monthly profit projections.
Leadership and Communication
- Develop, mentor, and support project team members in their career growth and personal fulfillment.
- Collaborate with operational leadership on team assignments and workforce forecasting.
- Resolve labor relations problems on assigned projects.
- Accept and maintain other internal management duties, responsibilities, and special assignments in a leadership role for the company.
- Adhere to and promote Company values.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 10–15 years of construction industry experience preferred, with demonstrated experience leading complex commercial projects such as mixed-use, high-rise, civic, multifamily, senior living, office, hospitality, or comparable work.
- Experience delivering large, phased, occupied, urban, or logistically complex commercial projects with significant structural, building-envelope, vertical-transportation, MEP, or site-coordination requirements is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of project delivery from preconstruction through closeout, including estimating, scheduling, cost management, contracts, change management, risk management, and client communication.
- Computer knowledge and proficiency, including Microsoft Office products and construction/project management technology.
KEY ATTRIBUTES
- Builds trusted relationships with clients, owners, architects, engineers, consultants, trade partners, and internal teams.
- Leads with confidence, accountability, and sound judgment in complex project environments.
- Communicates clearly and professionally with a wide range of audiences, including clients, project teams, field teams, and senior leaders.
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail, organization, time management, and follow-through.
- Solves challenging and complex problems with a practical, team-oriented approach.
- Adapts well to shifting priorities, demands, timelines, and ambiguous conditions.
- Delegates effectively, develops others, and creates an environment where project teams can perform at their best.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety, quality, and doing the right thing.
- Understands industry trends and their impact on clients, projects, and business opportunities.
- Continues to grow professionally by staying current with emerging technologies, construction methods, and best practices.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

- When onsite, employees are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required by the company’s safety policies and as required per weather conditions
- Standard hours, plus evening and weekend work including work-related events
TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS
