Position Part‑Time High School Teacher – Frisco, TX Location: Frisco, TX Hours: 25 hours per week (5 hours per day, Monday‑Friday) Schedule: 194 days, Aug 1, 2026 – Jul 31, 2027; continuation contingent upon enrollment and budget. Start Date: Immediately About the Role This teaching position is located in the University of Texas Charter School (BasePoint Academy Frisco Campus), a partner partial hospitalization treatment center campus in a non‑traditional alternative educational setting. The role focuses on teaching high school core subjects and supporting students with diverse needs (ESL, at‑risk, etc.). Benefits Competitive salaries, eligible for annual merit‑based increases. Free access to UT Austin libraries and museums with staff ID. Responsibilities Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for student development. Plan and use appropriate instructional interventions, strategies, materials, and equipment, including for ESL, GT, at‑risk students. Comply with UT-UCS curriculum standards and policies; implement IEPs and 504 accommodations. Maintain open communication with principals, support personnel, teachers, staff, parents, and students. Manage student behavior in accordance with the treatment plan, Student Code of Conduct, and handbook. Conduct ongoing formal and informal assessment of student learning and use data to inform instruction. Participate in faculty meetings, committee meetings, and staff development. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Valid Texas Special Education EC‑12 and any High School Core Subject certifications. Knowledge of the assigned subject(s) and understanding of TEKS and state curriculum standards. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a non‑traditional school setting with students of varying abilities. Awareness of trauma impact on students. Proficiency in technology and applications at district level. Requirement to obtain ESL certification within 90 days of hire. Fingerprinting required. Preferred Qualifications Valid Texas English as a Second Language Supplement EC‑12. At least one year of student teaching or approved internship. Salary & Conditions Salary: $35,000 annually, plus adjustments based on qualifications. Working Conditions: Classrooms located within a pediatric children’s hospital in a non‑traditional educational setting.
