Role Snapshot Position: Hospice Aide (CNA) – Full-Time Focus: Personal care and comfort support for hospice patients Schedule: PRN Work Setting: Patient homes and licensed care facilities Coverage: Broward County - every other weekend Role Summary As a Hospice Aide (CNA) – Full-Time at Arc Hospice & Palliative Care, you will provide direct personal care and compassionate support to patients across the service area. This role offers the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients and families while working closely with a collaborative clinical team to support comfort and dignity at end of life. Overview The Hospice Aide is a trained caregiver who provides personal care and support services to hospice patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse Case Manager or the Manager or Director of Clinical Services. This role promotes patient comfort, dignity, and safety by assisting with daily activities and observing and reporting changes in patient condition. Assignments are based on the individualized plan of care and the aide’s training and competency. Key Responsibilities Provide personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, oral hygiene, and skin care as assigned Assist with ambulation, transfers, repositioning, and range-of-motion exercises as directed Observe and report changes in patient physical or emotional condition to the supervising nurse Assist with meals, feeding, and hydration support according to the plan of care Provide companionship, emotional support, and respectful presence to promote comfort and dignity Take and record vital signs when trained and directed by the nurse Maintain a clean and safe care environment, including light housekeeping related to patient care Provide short-term respite support to family caregivers during scheduled visits when appropriate Document care provided accurately and timely in accordance with agency policy Follow standard precautions, infection control practices, and HIPAA privacy requirements Participate in team meetings and required in-service training sessions Deliver care in any setting where the patient resides, including private homes and licensed facilities Provide weekend or after-hours support when directed by clinical leadership Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Support in this role: Dallas, Texas and Surrounding Counties.
