Pharmacy Technician

We are hiring a Pharmacy Technician for one of our clients in Austin, TX .

Job Description:

• Responsibilities of the Pharmacy Technician work involves inventory management, preparing medications for a pharmacist final check, delivering medications to patient areas, conducting medication area inspections, providing technical assistance, and performing clerical duties.
• Provides guidance to others as needed. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment within the boundaries allowed by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
• Responsible for adhering to standards of professional, legal, and ethical practice and all applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures and/or guidelines of the hospital, HHSC and Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP).

Job Requirements for all candidates:

• Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
• Experience in pharmaceutical assistance work.
• Experience in Pyxis MedStation System preferred.
• Experience with medication room inspections preferred.
• Experience with manual and automated medication repackaging preferred.
• Will abide with agency leave policy, abide with rules, regulations and policies of HHSC and Facility and performs other duties as assigned.
• Will ensure Contract Office has a current license registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy license at all times while providing services at the Facility.
• Failure to do so will require a suspension of services until an updated license is provided and no monetary penalty will be assessed against the Facility for such suspension in services.

• Minimum 3-month contract
• All compliance must be met before candidate can start. No exceptions.

• Regular rates apply for all positions
• No requested time off will be approved at this time (can be discussed)
• Must have valid photo ID
• Must have negative PPD results within last 12 months
• COVID-19 testing with negative result desired (but not required) prior to starting in person work (we provide)
• Must be able to successfully pass a urine drug screen and background check (you provide)
• Must be able to successfully pass an FBI fingerprint background check (we provide)

Work hours:

• Duties of Pharmacy Technician (shifts are Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm or 8:30 pm-5:30 pm.
• There are NO 12 hr. shifts.
• Candidate must be available for 9 consecutive days of training, M-F, 8-5, before resume is sent (this is non-negotiable).
• Overtime Pay: Facilities do not allow staffing agency staff to work more than 40 hours in one week unless approved and scheduled on an individual basis by State Hospital
