Rigger (Helper)

Summary

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Duties

• You will direct placement removal or re-positioning of missile containers and their components.
• You will estimate weight and center of gravity of load to be moved.
• You will plan weight distribution and load maneuvering.
• You will install beam clamps gin poles gallows frames and other supporting structures.
• You will use jacks pulley blocks chain falls rollers and similar equipment as necessary to move and position heavy items.
• You will perform scheduled weight tests and preventive maintenance on slings bands strong backs shackles straps and other handling equipment as prescribed in Test Data Sheets.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.
• This is a bargaining unit position.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Explosive Safety certification.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets gloves coveralls glasses goggles respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to qualify for inclusion into the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP).

Qualifications

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge skills abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This announcement uses the Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (DHA for Domestic Def Industrial Base Facilities & Major Range/Test Facilities Base in DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in competitive service.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour including nights weekends and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.

If selected below the full performance level you may be noncompetitively promoted to the next higher grade level after meeting all regulatory requirements and upon the recommendation of management. Promotion is neither implied nor guaranteed.

This position requires exposure to high noise levels.

Certain incentives (such as Recruitment Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees.
