Key Responsibilities

1. Lead mechanical design for facility and water/wastewater pump station projects, including process piping, HVAC, and equipment layouts.
2. Develop detailed mechanical design packages, including plans, sections, details, P&IDs, and specifications.
3. Perform pump and pipe flow calculations, system curve analyses, and equipment sizing for various process applications.
4. Design and specify heat trace systems, insulation, and freeze-protection components for facility and outdoor installations.
5. Evaluate and select mechanical equipment such as pumps, valves, piping, heat exchangers, and mechanical supports.
6. Participate in design reviews and quality checks to ensure accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• 7–12+ years of mechanical design experience in facilities, water/wastewater, pump stations, or industrial process environments.
• Strong knowledge of process piping, pump systems, flow calculations, and mechanical system design.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and mechanical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
• Experience designing heat trace systems and freeze-protection components.
• Understanding of relevant codes and standards (ASME, NFPA, IPC, AWWA, etc.).
• Ability to lead design tasks, coordinate across disciplines, and deliver high-quality construction documents.
